Every school has a story. Slavonika's began with curiosity, grew through years of teaching, and turned into a place where Slavic languages come to life. Here are the milestones that shaped it.

1. Who we are

The Website and Services are operated by SLAVONIKA, obrt za usluge, vl. Edi Vulić ("Slavonika", "we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietorship (obrt) registered in the Republic of Croatia.

Full registration details are set out in our Impressum.

2. Our Services

Slavonika provides online language lessons in Slavic languages and German, taught by a native multilingual tutor. Lessons are delivered remotely by video call and scheduled flexibly with each student.

  • A standard lesson lasts 50 minutes. A double lesson lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes, with a short break.
  • Lessons are available individually, in pairs, or in small groups of up to five students.
  • Learning materials (presentations, PDF workbooks, worksheets, videos, and digital resources) are provided as part of the Services.
  • On completing a course, students receive a certificate of completion confirming their participation and the level achieved. This certificate is issued by Slavonika and is not a state-accredited or publicly recognized qualification.

3. Booking and trial lessons

You can book a trial lesson or regular lessons through the scheduling calendar on our Website. After a trial lesson, we agree on your goals and a personalized learning plan and schedule. A booking becomes a binding agreement once we confirm it (for example, by email or through the booking system).

4. Prices and payment

Current prices are shown on the Website and confirmed at the time of booking. You can pay after each lesson or pay in advance for a lesson package, as agreed.

  • Prices are in euro (EUR).
  • Slavonika is a flat-rate sole proprietorship and is not registered in the VAT system; VAT is not charged on its prices.
  • Payment is made by bank transfer or the method agreed at booking. Payment details are provided on the invoice or at booking.

5. Rescheduling and cancellation of lessons

Plans change, and we try to be flexible. To reschedule or cancel a scheduled lesson without charge, please give at least [24] hours' notice by email or through the booking system.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than [24] hours' notice, or missed without notice ("no-show"), may be charged in full or deducted from a pre-paid package.
  • If we need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, we will offer you an alternative time or, where applicable, a refund for that lesson.

6. Your right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a contract for our Services within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason.

  • To exercise this right, send us a clear statement of your decision to withdraw, by email to slavonika.school@gmail.com, before the 14-day period expires.
  • If you ask us to begin the Services during the 14-day period, you may still withdraw, but you must pay for the part of the Services already provided up to the moment you inform us.
  • If you expressly request that the Services be fully performed within the 14-day period and they are fully performed, you lose the right of withdrawal for those Services.
  • Where a refund is due, we will refund you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of your withdrawal, using the same means of payment you used.

7. Student responsibilities

To take part in lessons you need a computer or laptop, a stable internet connection, and the agreed video-call software. You agree to attend lessons on time, to treat the tutor and any group participants with respect, and to use the learning materials only for your own personal learning.

8. Intellectual property and use of materials

All learning materials, course content, and Website content are owned by Slavonika or its licensors and are protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the materials provided to you for your own learning. You may not copy, share, resell, publish, or distribute the materials, and you may not record lessons, without our prior written consent.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to provide the Services reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Website or that lessons will be free of technical issues caused by third-party platforms. We may update our courses, materials, prices, and these Terms from time to time. Changes apply to bookings made after the change; the version in force at the time of your booking governs that booking.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, Slavonika is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for specific outcomes such as exam results, since learning progress depends on each student's own effort and circumstances.

11. Complaints and dispute resolution

If you are unhappy with any part of our Services, please contact us first at slavonika.school@gmail.com — we will do our best to resolve the matter quickly. We will confirm receipt of a written complaint and respond within 15 days.As a consumer, you may also be able to use an alternative (out-of-court) dispute resolution body. In Croatia, information on competent consumer dispute resolution bodies is available through the ministry responsible for consumer protection. (The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.)

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence in the EU. Disputes are subject to the competent courts in Croatia, without depriving consumers of the protection afforded by the law of their habitual residence.
